A 53-year-old man from Cobourg, Ontario, now faces eight criminal charges after police identified additional alleged victims in a sexual assault investigation linked to a tailoring business in Brighton.
Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police launched the investigation on August 20, following complaints about incidents at the business. Officers arrested and charged the suspect on August 24. As the investigation continued, police identified more alleged victims, which led to further charges.

Eight Charges Filed Against Cobourg Man
The man now faces four counts of sexual assault and four counts of voyeurism. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on September 23.
Northumberland OPP announced the charges in a news release on Friday. The suspect worked as an employee at the Brighton tailoring business at the time of the alleged incidents.
Possible Links to Other Communities
Investigators believe the suspect has previous business connections in both the Orillia and Collingwood areas. As a result, police are concerned that additional victims may exist beyond those already identified.
Northumberland OPP is asking anyone with information about the investigation to come forward. Police also encourage anyone who believes they experienced a similar incident to contact them directly.

In addition to the police investigation, support services are available through Peterborough Northumberland Victim Services. Police confirmed this resource is open to anyone affected by the incidents.
