The South International Series Festival will expand its industry offering in 2027 with the launch of a dedicated investment forum in Cádiz. Womack Group announced the new initiative, called South Investors Week, during this year’s festival edition. The event will bring audiovisual producers and companies together with private financiers and investment institutions.
South Investors Week Set for Spring 2027
South Investors Week will run from April 30 to May 5, 2027, as part of the festival’s fifth edition. The dates also mark South’s shift from an autumn to a spring schedule. Womack Group is organizing the forum in partnership with Mira Anta, an audiovisual investment fund co-promoted by Mira Entertainment Capital and managed by Anta Asset Management.

The program will include project pitches, investment presentations and one-to-one meetings between producers and financiers. Discussions on funding strategies and business models will also feature throughout the week. Organizers expect international firms specializing in audiovisual finance to attend, although no participants have yet been confirmed.
Forum Targets a Wide Range of Industry Players
The forum targets investment funds, financial institutions, production companies, streaming platforms and audiovisual technology businesses. Companies will have the opportunity to present projects and expansion plans directly to potential financial and industrial partners.
Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I launched in May and registered with Spain’s CNMV financial regulator in June. The fund carries a fundraising target of €80 million, equivalent to approximately $90.1 million. It plans to acquire stakes in audiovisual companies and finance individual productions through participatory loans tied to presales, distribution agreements and tax incentives, as well as gap financing. Its investment scope also covers virtual production and audiovisual technologies, including artificial intelligence applications.
Industry Leaders Highlight Need for Specialized Capital
José Carlos Conde, president of Mira Entertainment Capital and CEO of Womack Group, pointed to a gap between Spain’s creative strengths and its financial infrastructure. “Spain’s audiovisual industry has talent, production capacity and an increasingly international reach,” he said. “Yet it needs new financial tools and specialized capital to realize its full potential.”
Sergio Torras Soler, a financier involved in developing Mira Anta, also stressed the broader role investment can play. “Investment should not be limited to financing productions,” he said. “It can also contribute to the growth of companies, infrastructure, technologies and business models.”
Womack Group produces the South festival and stands behind Mira Entertainment Capital. Meanwhile, Anta Asset Management operates as part of Corporación Financiera Azuaga. Earlier this year, in January, Mexico-based Punta Fina Studios announced a partnership with Womack Studios, the group’s production arm, to establish a $47 million fund targeting series, telenovelas and films for Latin American and U.S. Hispanic audiences.
South’s fourth edition ran from October 30 to November 4 in Cádiz, combining series premieres, creative talks and industry events. The 2027 edition will therefore represent a significant step forward, adding a structured investment platform to the festival’s growing industry program.
