Live Nation Confirms Damage, No Injuries Reported
Live Nation Canada, the company that operates Rogers Stadium, confirmed the venue suffered significant damage but stated that no one was injured in the incident. The company did not immediately release further details about the full extent of the destruction.
Wednesday’s storm struck Toronto with exceptional force, bringing strong winds and dumping more than 100 millimetres of rain on some of the city’s hardest-hit neighbourhoods. The severe weather triggered widespread power outages and flooding across the city.
A Venue Already Under Pressure
The storm damage marks the latest setback for a stadium that has faced repeated criticism since it opened last summer. Concertgoers raised early complaints that the 50,000-capacity venue appeared ill-equipped to manage large crowds. Local officials also lodged noise complaints against the facility.
Live Nation responded to those concerns by pledging operational adjustments, but the venue has continued to attract scrutiny. The storm now adds a significant physical challenge to an already difficult first year of operation.
