Amazon’s Prime Video has revealed the full schedule for its debut season of “Wednesday Night Hockey,” a 27-game national broadcast package set to launch on September 30 with the Toronto Maple Leafs facing the New York Islanders at home.
Canadian Teams Feature Prominently in the Schedule
Montreal leads all Canadian franchises with seven appearances across the Wednesday night slate. Toronto follows with six scheduled games, while Edmonton earns five. Calgary, Winnipeg and Ottawa each appear four times, and Vancouver rounds out the Canadian representation with two appearances.

The package delivers several high-profile matchups throughout the season. One of the most anticipated contests comes on October 21, when Brady Tkachuk returns to Ottawa as a member of the Florida Panthers. A week later, the Battle of Alberta brings the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames together in another marquee showdown.
Streaming Details and Broadcast Language
Prime Video will stream all 27 games to subscribers across Canada at no additional charge. Broadcasts will be available in both English and French, giving the service broad national reach from the opening night.
The Wednesday Night Hockey package forms part of a broader 12-year sub-licensing agreement between Amazon and Rogers. Under that deal, Prime Video also secures the rights to broadcast two first-round Stanley Cup playoff series and one second-round series each season, significantly expanding the streamer’s presence in Canadian hockey coverage.
The launch marks a notable shift in how Canadian hockey fans can access nationally televised games, with a major streaming platform now holding a dedicated weekly window for the first time under a long-term rights structure.
