Russia Ukraine overnight strikes killed civilians and injured dozens on both sides, according to local authorities. The latest attacks struck several Ukrainian and Russian regions. Meanwhile, Moscow continued its campaign against Ukrainian cities.
Russian missiles hit Kharkiv and Odesa
In Kharkiv, Russian missiles struck a high-rise apartment building in the Saltivskyi district. Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov said two people died. He also reported 13 injuries.
Meanwhile, Russian missiles and drones hit Odesa and surrounding areas. Regional governor Oleh Kiper said eight people suffered injuries. He described the attack as involving dozens of missiles and drones.
The attacks have increased pressure on Ukraine’s air defenses. In particular, Kyiv faces a serious shortage of interceptors for U.S.-made Patriot systems.
The Patriot remains Ukraine’s key defense against ballistic missiles. Therefore, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly urged allies to provide more systems.

Ukraine seeks more Patriot support
Zelenskyy has pressed the United States and other countries for additional Patriot batteries. He has also explored alternatives amid growing shortages.
Ukraine wants to produce Patriot ammunition domestically if additional supplies remain unavailable. Zelenskyy has also sought access to technology that could strengthen Ukraine’s long-range strikes.
Meanwhile, Kyiv continues to attack targets deep inside Russia with long-range drones. Ukrainian strikes have increasingly focused on energy infrastructure and other strategic facilities.
Those attacks have contributed to pressure on Russia’s fuel network. Ukraine has also targeted Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer, among other sites.
Ukrainian drones strike Russian regions
In Russia, authorities reported heavy Ukrainian drone attacks overnight. Belgorod region suffered some of the deadliest reported casualties.
Regional authorities said five people died. They also reported injuries to around two dozen people, including a four-year-old boy.
The strikes damaged 29 apartment buildings and five private houses. Administrative buildings and commercial facilities also suffered damage, officials said.
In Novorossiysk, drone debris struck two enterprises and a private home. Mayor Andrey Kravchenko reported the incidents on Sunday.
Later, regional officials said falling debris injured one person. They also reported damage to two houses and an apartment building window.
Russia claims 153 drones intercepted
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces destroyed or intercepted 153 Ukrainian drones overnight. The reported interceptions included drones over Crimea and nearby seas.
The ministry also said Russian forces struck Ukrainian military facilities. Those targets reportedly included drone warehouses near Kharkiv.
Russian forces also targeted fuel depots and military supplies near Odesa. Ukrainian authorities did not independently confirm Russia’s claims.
The continuing attacks show how both sides are expanding their use of long-range weapons. At the same time, civilian areas remain exposed to the escalating strikes.
Novorossiysk remains a strategic target
The latest attacks also highlighted the strategic importance of Novorossiysk. The Russian port hosts a major fuel terminal.
The facility connects Kazakhstan’s oil fields with international markets. Ukrainian forces have previously targeted infrastructure around the port.
Consequently, further attacks could create additional pressure on regional energy supplies. However, the full impact of the latest strikes remains unclear.
