Bethesda Game Studios has officially unveiled the subtitle for The Elder Scrolls 6, confirming the long-awaited sequel will be titled Sentinel. Franchise director Todd Howard revealed the name and logo in a video message released as part of Bethesda’s 40th anniversary celebration on Tuesday.
Elder Scrolls 6 Subtitle Confirmed as Sentinel
Sentinel is a major city within the Hammerfell province on Tamriel, the continent where the Elder Scrolls series takes place. Hammerfell sits west of Cyrodiil, the setting of the 2006 installment Oblivion, and southwest of Skyrim. Skyrim remains the studio’s most played game to date.

Bethesda first announced The Elder Scrolls 6 at its E3 2018 conference. The game entered active production in 2023, following the launch of Starfield. Howard stated in 2021 that he expected the game to release roughly 15 to 17 years after Skyrim, which launched in 2011. That timeline suggests fans may still wait several more years before playing Sentinel.

Borderlands Franchise Surpasses 100 Million Units Sold
The Borderlands franchise has now crossed 100 million units sold. Borderlands 4, which launched in September 2025, continues to receive new content from Gearbox. Over the past year, the team added two story packs, five bounty packs, two vault hunters, two free raid boss encounters and a Takedown endgame raid.
Starting November 6, players will take part in The Hunt, a community fundraising event. Earlier this year, the event raised $118,995.80 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Both 2K Foundations and Gearbox will match every dollar donated up to that previous record amount. Titles across the franchise are currently on sale.
