Furthermore, third-quarter box office revenue per patron exceeded $14 for the first time. The milestone reflects a growing trend of moviegoers choosing premium format screenings over standard options.
Blockbuster Films Drive Attendance
Cineplex credited several major releases for driving the record results. Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey both generated strong attendance across the company’s premium offerings.
In addition, Resident Evil contributed meaningfully to September’s performance. Together, these titles helped sustain audience interest throughout the quarter.
CEO Points to Strength of the Theatrical Experience
Cineplex CEO Bill Walker highlighted the broader significance of the results. He said the consistency over recent quarters, including the record-setting third quarter, reflects the enduring appeal of the theatrical experience.
The September box office record adds to a pattern of strong performance for Cineplex in 2026. As premium formats continue to attract audiences, the company appears well-positioned heading into the final quarter of the year.
