The Winnipeg Jets made two roster moves on Monday, sending forward Brad Lambert to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose after he cleared waivers unclaimed. The Jets also reassigned defenceman Garrett Brown to the Moose following his recovery from an injury sustained at the rookie tournament.
Lambert Heads to Manitoba After Clearing Waivers
Lambert, 22, cleared waivers without any NHL team putting in a claim. The Jets then loaned him to the Moose, where he will look to rebuild his form. He had struggled to make an impact at the NHL level this season, recording just one assist in 11 games.

Lambert also served as a healthy scratch for each of the Jets’ last three games. However, he is no stranger to the AHL. Over the previous three seasons, he spent the majority of his time with the Moose while also appearing in 31 NHL games with Winnipeg.
Brown Returns After Rookie Tournament Injury
Meanwhile, defenceman Garrett Brown is also on his way to the Moose. Brown suffered an injury during the rookie tournament earlier this season. He has since recovered and is now ready to return to game action at the AHL level.
The Jets made these moves on a day off for the rest of the roster. The team had just earned a dramatic victory in Montreal before getting the day to rest.
What Comes Next for Both Teams
The Moose return to home ice on Friday to face the Calder Cup champion Toronto Marlies. It will be an early opportunity for both Lambert and Brown to contribute after joining the club.
The Jets, meanwhile, open a three-game homestand on Thursday when they host the Vancouver Canucks. Winnipeg will look to carry momentum from their win in Montreal into the upcoming stretch of home games.
