Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a break-in and sexual assault in the city’s Old Town neighbourhood early Friday morning. Officers responded to the area of Richmond Street East and Sherbourne Street at approximately 5 a.m. following a call for help.
Victim Awoken by Intruder
Investigators determined that the victim was asleep inside their residence when an unknown suspect broke in. The suspect then allegedly assaulted and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim managed to escape the apartment and contact emergency services.

After the attack, the suspect left the apartment and fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police have not confirmed how the suspect entered the residence.

Toronto police describe the suspect as a white male with a skinny build and scruffy facial hair. No further physical details have been released at this time.
