A deadly three-vehicle crash near the Ontario-Quebec border killed three people late Thursday night, Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed. The collision took place on County Road 17 near County Road 27 in South Glengarry Township, just after 9:45 p.m.
Three Dead at the Scene
Officers arrived to find three people dead at the scene. The victims included a 61-year-old driver from South Glengarry, a 54-year-old passenger also from South Glengarry, and an 18-year-old driver from North Glengarry. All three died before emergency crews could transport them.

A third vehicle was also involved in the fatal three-vehicle crash. Occupants of that vehicle survived and emergency services took them to hospital for assessment. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
Investigation Underway
Ontario Provincial Police are actively investigating the cause of the collision. At this stage, no details about what triggered the crash have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward. In particular, police want to hear from drivers who may have recorded dashcam footage in the area around the time of the crash. Anyone with relevant information should contact police directly.
South Glengarry Township sits in eastern Ontario, close to the Quebec border. The area along County Road 17 is a rural corridor, and late-night collisions in such locations can be especially difficult for first responders to reach quickly. The loss of three lives in a single crash makes this one of the more serious road tragedies in the region in recent memory.
