There may be repercussions for not declaring the items you must declare, which are prohibited from entering Canada, and which will incur taxes and/or duties when you apply for entry.
You are required to disclose one or more of the following to border officials when applying for admission at a Canadian port of entry:
- alcohol,
- tobacco,
- weapons and firearms,
- food, plant, and animal products,
- gifts
- animals,
- and money or financial instruments worth more than 10,000 Canadian dollars.
On the other hand, entering Canada should not be attempted with:
- illegal drugs;
- prohibited firearms or other prohibited weapons;
- sick animals;
- endangered species or parts from endangered species;
- cannabis or products containing cannabis;
- or any package whose contents you are unsure of.
Once again, you may face repercussions and be denied entry into Canada if you fail to declare the mentioned items.
