York Regional Police are searching for a 28-year-old Markham woman named Andrella, who disappeared in the early hours of the morning and has not been located since. Her family describes her absence as completely out of character, raising urgent concern among investigators and loved ones alike.
Woman Last Seen in Early Morning Hours
Andrella was last seen between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. at her home near Highway 7 East and Birchmount Avenue in Markham, Ontario. Investigators have not yet confirmed what she was wearing when she left, and no leads have emerged regarding her destination.

“Her family says this is very out of character. We have no indication of where she would have gone,” Constable James Dickson told reporters on Friday afternoon. The lack of any known motive or direction has made the search particularly challenging for officers on the ground.
Large-Scale Search Underway in Markham
York Regional Police have deployed a significant number of officers and resources to comb through the surrounding neighbourhood. The search covers both buildings and green spaces in the area, which Dickson acknowledged presents considerable difficulty.
“This area is quite difficult for our officers to search,” he said. “We have a lot of buildings that have multiple storeys, we also have a lot of green spaces. As a result, we do have a lot of resources that are dedicated to this right now that are out looking.”
The department’s K9 unit has not yet joined the search. Dickson explained that the dogs had not been deployed because officers lacked a trail for them to follow. Investigators are actively seeking surveillance footage that may show Andrella after she left her home, which could provide a more recent location or confirm details about her clothing.

Andrella stands five feet eight inches tall and has shoulder-length black hair and a red complexion. Police say she may be wearing a hijab and dark glasses.
York Regional Police are urging anyone with information about the missing Markham woman to contact them immediately. Even minor details could prove critical to locating Andrella and returning her safely to her family.
