NEW YORK – Three brothers, including two prominent luxury real estate brokers, have been charged with luring, drugging, and sexually assaulting dozens of women over more than a decade, according to federal and state indictments unsealed Wednesday.
Oren Alexander, Tal Alexander, and their sibling Alon Alexander are accused of using their wealth, influence, and access to high-profile social circles to exploit women from at least 2010 to 2021. The charges include a federal sex trafficking conspiracy in New York and additional state charges in Florida stemming from three separate sexual assault incidents.
Allegations of Predatory Behavior
Federal prosecutors allege the Alexanders used “deception, fraud, and coercion” to lure victims to parties, events, or trips, often covering expenses like flights and hotels. The indictment describes how the brothers drugged their victims, sometimes using substances like GHB, cocaine, and psychedelic mushrooms, leaving them incapacitated and unable to resist assaults.
Victims were met through dating apps, social events, or bars, and in some cases, through party promoters hired to recruit women. After being attacked, the women were reportedly given concert tickets or other luxury items before being sent away.
“In some instances, the defendants physically restrained and ignored victims’ explicit pleas to stop,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams during a press conference. He described the behavior as “heinous and calculated.”
Specific Incidents Detailed
The Florida charges detail three assaults, including a 2016 case where a woman alleged she was gang-raped at Alon Alexander’s Miami Beach apartment by Alon, Oren, and a relative, Ohad Fisherman, who remains at large. Another incident in 2017 involved a woman who claimed Oren Alexander drugged her wine, rendering her helpless before assaulting her. A third case in 2021 also involved Oren Alexander, who is accused of assaulting a woman after a social gathering.
Arrests and Legal Proceedings
The brothers were arrested in Florida on Wednesday. Oren appeared in a Miami federal court and faces a detention hearing Friday as prosecutors argue he is a flight risk and a danger to the community. Tal and Alon are in state custody and are expected to appear in court Thursday.
Lawyers for the Alexanders denied all charges.
“Oren Alexander is innocent,” attorney Susan Necheles said, stating that evidence will exonerate her client. Alon Alexander’s lawyer, Isabelle Kirshner, emphasized her client’s intention to plead not guilty. Tal Alexander’s lawyer declined to comment.
Response from Survivors and Advocates
Several women who previously filed lawsuits against the Alexanders expressed relief at the charges. “We are glad there is finally a path toward accountability,” said David Gottlieb, an attorney representing several accusers. “We applaud the courage of survivors who came forward after years of pain and suffering.”
High-Profile Careers in Real Estate
Oren and Tal Alexander were once high-profile real estate brokers at Douglas Elliman, managing luxury properties for clients like Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Lindsay Lohan. They later co-founded a new real estate venture in 2022.
The investigation is ongoing, and prosecutors are urging other potential victims to come forward.
