Florida Panthers winger Brady Tkachuk has earned NHL First Star of the Week honours after achieving a historic scoring feat. He became only the third player in NHL history to record natural hat tricks in consecutive games. Remarkably, no player had accomplished this in the past 40 years.
Tkachuk’s Historic Back-to-Back Hat Tricks
Tkachuk scored three goals against Columbus on Tuesday and then repeated the feat against Vancouver on Thursday. He also added four assists during the week. In total, he tied for the league lead with 10 points across four games.

The performance was a standout moment in the early part of the NHL season. Tkachuk’s consecutive natural hat tricks placed him in rare company in the league’s record books.
McDavid Reaches 800-Game Milestone
Edmonton Oilers centre Connor McDavid also earned recognition as the NHL’s Second Star of the Week. McDavid recorded 10 points during the week, including three goals and seven assists. His most notable performance came in his 800th career game on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings, when he put up four points.
Meanwhile, Minnesota Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov rounded out the three stars as the Third Star of the Week. Kaprizov posted four goals and three assists across four games. He also scored his league-leading 10th goal of the season, a game-winner against Columbus on Sunday.
Early Season Standouts
All three players made a strong impact in the opening weeks of the NHL season. Tkachuk and McDavid each finished the week tied at the top of the points leaderboard. Kaprizov, however, led the entire league in goals with his 10th of the year.
Together, the three stars highlighted the high level of play across the NHL in the week ending October 19, 2026. Their performances set an early benchmark for individual excellence in the new season.
