However, Toronto’s coaching staff chose to keep all top rotation players out of the contest. The decision reflected the team’s cautious approach ahead of the regular season.
Nimari Burnett also contributed meaningfully for the Raptors. He scored 17 points and pulled down five rebounds. Meanwhile, rookie Allen Gaves chipped in nine points and grabbed eight boards, showing promise despite a modest scoring night.
Pistons Rotate Deep Roster in Victory
Detroit controlled the game throughout and finished with a 3-1 pre-season record. Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 18 points and seven assists. Jalen Duren also contributed, finishing with 14 points and three rebounds.
Both Cunningham and Duren played limited minutes. In total, 18 different players entered the game for Detroit, as the coaching staff used the final pre-season contest to evaluate their full roster depth.
Raptors Prepare for Regular Season Opener
Toronto now turns its attention to the regular season. The Raptors will host the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday in their home opener. After a mixed pre-season run, the team will look to build momentum in front of their home crowd.
The Trayce Jackson-Davis performance offered some encouragement for Raptors fans. Even so, the team will need its full rotation available and firing when the games start to count.
