That boy was eight-year-old JahVai Roy. Stray bullets struck him in his bedroom. The shooting happened on Aug. 16, 2025.
JahVai lay in bed beside his mother. Shots rang out near his home around 12:30 a.m. The bullets entered his room and killed him.
Police later arrested three teenagers in that case. Each faces a charge of first-degree murder. The community still mourns the loss.
