Country singer Kacey Musgraves will release a brand new 16-track album titled Middle of Nowhere Vol. 2: Tex Mex Tapes on January 15, 2027. Lost Highway Records will distribute the record, which arrives just eight months after the release of Vol. 1. The follow-up album expands on the themes of its predecessor, exploring solitude, contentment, and finding beauty in life’s quieter moments.
A Bilingual Album with Deep Tex-Mex Roots
Four of the album’s 16 songs appear entirely in Spanish. Among them is a newly recorded Spanish-language version of “Uncertain, TX,” which features Norteño group Intocable. The bilingual nature of the project reflects the Tex-Mex influences that run throughout the collection.
