Vancouver police are stepping up patrols in response to a pair of “serious incidents” in the downtown core Wednesday morning.
The department says no arrests have been made and it is unclear to investigators whether the two incidents are related.
In a social media post around 8:45 a.m., the department said police are examining crime scenes at the corner of W. Georgia and Hamilton streets, as well as near W. Georgia and Homer streets.
Police said the incidents occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m.
The department did not provide any details about the nature of the crimes now under investigation, but said additional officers have been dispatched to the area and updates will be provided when available.
