A horrific case of child abuse and murder has rocked England.
Urfan Sharif, 42, and his partner Beinash Batool, 30, were found guilty on Wednesday of murdering their 10-year-old stepdaughter, Sara Sharif. The young girl was discovered dead in her home in Woking, Surrey, on August 10, 2023.
The post-mortem examination revealed that Sara had suffered multiple injuries, including severe bruising, burns, and fractures. Prosecutors allege that the three defendants, including Sharif’s brother Faisal Malik, who was convicted of causing or allowing the girl’s death, were involved in a prolonged campaign of abuse against the child.
The trio fled to Pakistan shortly after Sara’s death. Sharif confessed to the crime in a phone call to UK police, claiming he had “legally punished” her. However, prosecutors argued that this was a false confession to protect Batool.
The harrowing details of the case have shocked the nation, highlighting the urgent need to protect children from abuse.
