Thousands of Candles in Ceramic Containers Recalled in Canada – Here’s Why
Health Canada announced on Wednesday a recall of candles in ceramic containers due to fire hazards, according to a statement from the agency.
The recall affects Maison Lavande candles sold in ceramic containers across four scents: amber, vanilla and lavender; eucalyptus woods and lavender; grapefruit and lavender; and cedar and lavender.
“As of December 11, 2024, the company has received one report of an abnormally high flame in Canada, with no damage or injury,” Health Canada said in the statement.
The flames of these candles can reach abnormally high levels, potentially causing fire, property damage, or personal injury, the agency warned.
More than 12,000 candles sold between May 1 and November 24, 2024, are being recalled. Consumers are advised not to use the affected products, dispose of them safely, and contact the company for a refund.
