Cory Mills accused of threatening to release explicit content after a breakup with a former beauty pageant winner. The Florida congressman strongly denies the allegations and blames a former political rival for orchestrating the claims.
The 25-year-old woman told Columbia County investigators that Mills harassed her repeatedly after their relationship ended in early 2025. She claimed he sent threatening messages and promised to leak nude images and sex videos they recorded while dating.
The woman began dating Mills in 2021. At the time, Mills was still legally married but told her the divorce had finalized in 2024. She moved into his home in New Smyrna Beach and lived there while he traveled to Washington.
After media reports linked Mills to another woman in Washington, the former girlfriend left the home and moved to Columbia County. She told deputies that Mills began calling and messaging her constantly. According to her report, he also threatened to harm any man she dated after him.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office referred the case to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The FDLE confirmed it received the referral but declined to comment on the ongoing investigation. No charges have been filed, and the investigation into the accusation against Cory Mills remains open.
In a written statement, Mills denied the allegations. He claimed that former Lake County Commissioner Anthony Sabatini, his 2022 GOP primary opponent, pushed the story for political revenge.
“Anthony Sabatini weaponized the legal system to attack me,” Mills wrote. “These claims distort my personal life and smear my name.”
Sabatini didn’t respond to interview requests. However, he posted on social media: “Mills must resign.”
Despite the controversy, Mills insists he will stay focused on his district and “America First” policies. “I’ll fully cooperate with authorities and let the truth come out,” he said.
Mills represents a district stretching from Orlando to Daytona Beach. He entered Congress in 2022 after winning the Republican primary against Sabatini.
