Canada Post announced that most of its operations have returned to normal following the postal strike. Domestic parcels are now being delivered on time, and service guarantees for these items have been reinstated as of Monday. However, the Crown corporation cautioned that some mail delays will continue as it manages a backlog of items.
In a press release issued Tuesday, Canada Post stated:
“We have returned to normal processing and delivery levels across the country, including in rural and remote areas.”
The company thanked Canadians for their patience as it worked to restore safe and reliable operations but noted it is still addressing a higher-than-normal volume of mail.
Expected Delays
- Transaction Mail: Letters, bills, and statements may face delays of several days beyond standard delivery times.
- Neighbourhood Mail: Businesses should anticipate extended delivery times for bulk mail due to significant processing volumes.
- International Mail: Deliveries to and from other countries will also experience delays.
Updates and Resources
Canadians are encouraged to check the Canada Post website for real-time updates on service and delivery timelines.
Canada Post expressed its gratitude for the public’s understanding during the recovery process and assured customers that efforts are ongoing to address remaining challenges.
